The Saint Cocteau
Francesco Vezzoli
This suite, the Saint Cocteau, is a tribute to the beloved spirit of Jean Cocteau, who held Megève dear to his heart. Created by Francesco Vezzoli, one of Italy’s most celebrated contemporary artists, the room embodies his intention to preserve and honor the artistic essence of the chalet. Vezzoli tailored this unique space as a homage, blending personal inspiration with his signature exploration of culture and identity.
Known for his ability to emulate diverse media formats, Vezzoli’s work delves into the seductive power of language, the ambiguity of truth, and the fluidity of the human persona. In the Saint Cocteau suite, his fascination with figures in the limelight takes center stage, marrying glamour, nostalgia, and a touch of tragi-comic irony. With a nod to Cocteau and a playful juxtaposition of high and low culture, this suite offers guests an artistic retreat infused with depth, charm, and elegance.
