This suite immerses guests in another of Luís Lázaro Matos’ fantastical universes, part of the larger Yeti, the Joyful Hoax installation. The centerpiece is a striking bathroom designed as a hidden cave, echoing the artist’s theme of mystery and discovery. A door adorned with vibrant blue ripples acts as a portal into this imaginative world, setting the tone for the playful and surreal atmosphere within.
Throughout the suite, the walls are lined with artworks and figures that bring Matos’ whimsical narrative to life. The combination of sculptural elements, bold colors, and eccentric details invites guests to explore a space where every corner holds a surprise. The Joyful Yeti continues Matos’ tradition of creating immersive environments, blending humor, wonder, and a touch of the fantastical to transform the room into an art-filled adventure.

Luís Lázaro Matos
Luís Lázaro Matos was born in Évora, Portugal, in 1987. He currently lives and works in Bruxelles. The art practice of Luis Lazaro Matos is mostly expressed through drawing, sculpture, animation and installation, inherently diluting the frontiers between disciplines such as design and fine art. Luis’ work often presents itself through architectural counter-proposals, reflecting his interest in drawing as a critical and satirical tool through which modernist and post-modernist utopian visions may be analyzed and reinterpreted.
