Giovanni Ozzola works primarily in the media of photography and video.
His pictorial research in the footsteps of fog and sunlight as elements the immerse in the reality of a manmade world led him to establish a unique and comprehensive picturesque image archive. Ozzola’s photographs capture thus ephemeral situations where light is the main protagonist, but his mis-en-scene is however heavily informed by long and weighty history of painting. Ozzola’s photographs are built as minimalist compositions, relying on a strong horizon line and carefully framed by man-made obstructions.
